Defensive Pistol is a three part series that starts you down the path to help solve issues when violence knocks at your door. Throughout the series, our experienced instructors will guide you through the mindset, tactics, skills & equipment needed in the protection of yourself as well as others. Our methodology stresses the importance of the application of the fundamentals, coupled with realistic content, and the use of a firearm in the protection of life.
DEFENSIVE PISTOL I
Defensive Pistol I introduces you to the fundamentals of handgun shooting. Whether you are learning, refreshing, practicing for competitions, or to defend yourself or others; this course stresses the importance of utilizing your weapon from the holster and shooting effectively. All drills and instruction are from your holster. We work from the strong side holster, so you learn how to employ each step accurately and safely. You’ll become more confident carrying and knowing your weapon. You must demonstrate safe skills to continue to Defensive Pistol II.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL II
Defensive Pistol II introduces you into reacting to threats and situations you may encounter. Threats aren’t static, nor do they stop with one shot. In this course, you will learn to move while engaging a threat with multiple shots. We will teach how to clear different kinds of malfunctions while moving to cover until you get your weapon back in the fight. Once behind cover, you will learn correct techniques for shooting from cover, both strong and support hand. You must demonstrate safe skills to continue to Defensive Pistol III.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL III
Defensive Pistol III teaches you how to fight smart against a threat. Sometimes it takes multiple shots to stop a threat. The best strategy is not to stay on the “X”, or the spot where the fight went down. In this course, you will learn what is more likely to happen in a real gunfight and what you should do to increase your odds of winning. You will learn movement skills while engaging a threat that is also moving. Sometimes in a fight, you are knocked down and need to address the threat while regaining your footing. We teach you how to employ your weapon safely and effectively from situations that you may encounter.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL IV
Defensive Pistol IV will expand on developing a proper mindset, awareness, and situational interpretation, managing unknown contact(s), and enacting an action strategy. Dynamic movement, close-proximity retention shooting, and alternate aiming methodology are some of the subjects covered in this realistic coursework. Mindset and awareness will continue to be emphasized and enhanced, with range time focusing on taxing your critical thinking abilities with realistic scenarios and shooting drills. Shooting from retention through extension, awkward positional weapons access and shooting with alternate sighting methods will be mentored. Shooting from cover while working in and around people will be stressed through this series. Final evaluations will be conducted with complex problem-solving evolutions and timed events. This course will conclude with a culminating evolution, which will combine all these skills, with critical information processing, rounding out this robust, realistic course.
