The Reality Based Training Course takes the fundamental course skills that have been learned and internalized from the Defensive Pistol Series and Everyday Carry Series, putting them into practical application, while negotiating common, reality based scenarios meant to test a student’s problem solving and critical thinking skills. These scenarios will be conducted with live, active role players, that have been coached to respond and react as a criminal actor would. Simulated marking cartridges will be used to identify hits and illicit a minor pain response. These scenarios will have a large amount of ambiguity, allowing the student many correct responses. 

Concurrently, while students are participating in their individual scenario(s), classroom lecture and practical exercises will be conducted to give them an in-depth overview of the criminal paradigm, how violent criminal actors work in our current environment and individual responses to critical incidents that will help the protective minded student explore all options from developing verbal de-escalation and response commands, less-than-lethal, and finally lethal options. 

This course work will pressure test your individual protective system and help identify your strengths and weaknesses, while guiding the expansion of your comfort zone and understanding of the complexities of a dynamic, criminal encounter. 

PREREQUISITES:

Defensive Pistol and Everyday Carry Series of Classes or Equivalent Training from a Reputable Training Academy. 

EQUIPMENT: 

  • Personal Carry Method Holster and Magazine Holder – We have Glock and Sig Simunitions Pistols. Holsters and Magazine Holders can be provided. 

  • Rugged Clothing and Footwear – Long Sleeved Shirts or Sweatshirts Recommended 

  • Appropriate Cover Garment 

  • Gloves (Protective Handwear) - Optional 

  • Rugged Belt 

  • Groin Protection

  • Eye Protection 

  • All Other Training Equipment will be Provided 

COURSE DURATION: 4 Hours 

AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS:
None. This is not a Live Fire Course. Simunitions will be Provided and Included in the Course Cost.
