Ryan Simpson

FIREARMS Instructor

“No one knows or will know how to do everything and there is so much to learn from places you go, people you meet and scenarios that play out. Information and skill is ever evolving and changing so soak it up and be open to anything”.

As a Nashville native, Ryan started his weapons training and career with the Marine Corps Reserve in an infantry position as a heavy machine gunner, and then settled into a position at the Davidson County Sheriff’s office in 1997.  Since then he has moved throughout the department and has been a County Wide Warrant Officer II in the Warrant Division since 2004.  Ryan began his position as a range safety officer and instructor in January while simultaneously maintaining his position with the sheriff’s office.

When not working or teaching, Ryan spends most of his time with his wife Shanna of 17 years, their 18 year old son Jake, 1 year old daughter Henley Kate and their three dogs, Hank, Merlin and Mac. He is a huge sports enthusiast and fan supporting his favorite Tennessee Vols and his son’s high school sports teams.
