Defensive Handgun

This 8-hour class is designed to develop safe & well rounded shooters. Defensive Handgun is an Intermediate Handgun for Self Defense that has you moving, shooting and problem solving. Learn the essentials of non-standard positional shooting (Yoga with Guns!), critical movement skills, engaging from a seated position, and partner drills. Emphasis is towards drills and scenarios that simulate having children or family as part of a deadly force encounter and how to manage them keep them safe. This class is a fast-paced yet detail-rich program. Those wishing to work from concealment are welcome.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Students should have at least taken a basic handgun class within the past year and have a solid grasp of range etiquette and basic gun handling and safety skills.
DURATION: 8-Hours
COURSE FEE: $200

EQUIPMENT

  • Working handgun (preferably a centerfire gun)

  • 300 of factory FMB ball ammunition

  • Minimum of two (2) magazines, 3 magazines are recommended

  • Eye & ear protection

  • OWB Holster (Outside the Waistband). F or safety reasons bra holsters, soft side collapsible holsters, cross draw, Serpa, ankle, off-body and behind-the-back holsters are NOT allowed during live-fire portion of course. Contact with questions.)

  • Magazine pouch(s)

  • Sturdy gun belt

ATTIRE: Range appropriate attire: long pants, closed-toe shoes, high collared shirt. Brimmed ball caps recommended but not required.

REGISTRATION POLICIES & TERMS
NO VIDEO POLICY! To protect the privacy and learning experience of your fellow students we have adopted a strict NO VIDEO policy during class.
Cancelation: 50% of class/event fee is a non-refundable deposit.
Refunds: Refunds for the balance of event fee, if no transfer is possible, are issued via PayPal refund.
No-Show: Participants who do not show to the event without prior 72-hour notice forfeit their total registration fees.

Ladies Only Carry with Confidence

This 8-hour class gives you the knowledge, techniques, and tips to carry concealed both comfortably and confidently. Topics covered include gear selection, holster placement, attire, lifestyle logistics and male vs. female carry challenges. The MORNING SESSION is a hands-on workshop where we sort through holster types, try out different carry positions and accessory placement. This workshop answers the big questions about comfort and lifestyle to find the set-up that works best for you. The AFTERNOON SESSION is a fun progression of information and drills to build real-world situational awareness, information processing, and stress management for all facets of a deadly force encounter. Fine-tune safe and efficient technique to draw & engage from concealment as well as what to do before, during and after a deadly force event. Learn the essentials to carry with confidence!

ATTIRE:
 High collared shirt, cover & concealment garment (bring options to work with), Baselayers or compression garment are recommended to prevent being uncomfortably “exposed” when working from a concealment holster. Closed-toe shoes are a must! Brimmed ball caps recommended but not required.
